Resilo
Subscription-based emergency preparedness — always ready, always updated
Emergency preparedness is often neglected, outdated, or inconsistent. Most households either don’t prepare at all — or rely on static solutions that degrade over time. The core challenge was to rethink preparedness as a living system: • How do you ensure people are always prepared without requiring constant attention? • How do you maintain freshness of supplies (food, batteries, etc.) over time? • How do you create trust and simplicity in something people only need “just in case”? The opportunity was to move from a one-time purchase → to a continuous, reliable service.
I designed Resilo as a subscription-based preparedness system — combining physical products with a lifecycle service model. Instead of selling a static emergency kit, Resilo delivers a sealed, ready-to-use box that is: • regularly refreshed and replaced • maintained without user effort • always reliable in a real emergency The system includes: • subscription logistics for yearly replacement • lifecycle management of perishable components • trust-driven design (sealed box concept — only opened in emergencies) • a simple user experience focused on clarity and confidence The focus was not just the product, but the entire system: supply chain, service model, user behavior, and long-term reliability.
Resilo reframes emergency preparedness from a static product into an ongoing service. The concept demonstrates: - how subscription models can apply beyond digital products - how physical + service design can solve real-world reliability problems - how complex systems can be simplified into a clear user experience It serves as a strong example of: turning an overlooked problem into a scalable product concept with real-world impact.
